My illustration work is either traditional hand drawn or combines traditional drawing techniques with digital composition to create detailed, artwork for educational resources, publishing, and creative projects. Working primarily in pen, watercolour, graphite, and charcoal, I develop illustrations for a range of purposes and am always open to a challenge.
A recent project involved illustrating a deck of 32 Teacher Wellbeing cards for Innovative Resources. Many of the individual elements were first hand drawn using layered pen and watercolour before being carefully scanned and digitally assembled into finished compositions. This approach preserves the character and texture of traditional media while allowing the flexibility needed for professional publishing and design.
Whether creating educational illustrations, natural history-inspired artwork, or commissioned pieces, I enjoy combining classical drawing skills with modern production techniques. My illustrations are grounded in direct observation, and a genuine appreciation for the natural world.
